Host a Fundraiser

ORGANIZING A SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISER FOR THE FAIR FIGHT BOND FUND

What meaningful yet achievable goal(s) do you want to achieve with your event?

Who is on your event planning team and what are their roles?

Will your event be in person or virtual?

If the event is in person, find a location and determine the event type. For in-person events, please follow any public health restrictions and recommendations in your area.

If the event will be virtual, decide on the format of the event and the technology tools that you will use. Some examples of virtual fundraisers include:

  • Virtual house party or virtual class or activity
  • One-day online flash fundraiser
  • Donation matching drive
  • Live virtual action
  • Live performances or content streaming
  • Online trivia or quiz
  • A virtual run-, walk-, read-, bike-, dance-a-thon
  • Speaker, panel, Q&A, or interview

Are there any overhead costs for the event you need to budget for?

When will your event be?

We recommend that most live or in-person events not last more than two hours. The bigger the event, the more time you should have between the start of the planning and the final date.

Who’s on the guest list?

Be thoughtful about who you are inviting and why you are inviting them to this event. If this will be a larger and more public event, consider who your target audience will be.

How will you receive donations?

Consider: ticket sales, sales, cash or check donations, online, or digital giving

What are all the tools and technology you need to be successful?

Registration, payment processing, recording, streaming, visuals, sound, lighting, accessibility

How are you sending out your invitations and publicizing your event?

Please connect with us for support and to share updates during the planning process: development@waisn.org.
